A combination of spices and a dollop of whipped cream will turn your after dinner coffee into a dessert! You can add some Kahlua coffee liqueur, or you can serve the non-alcoholic version.

American Eggnog

Finally, we have the old American holiday drink recipe…Eggnog. This is a drink you’re probably familiar with. It’s a holiday standard in my house but we like to add a little brandy or triple sec to give it a little vigor! This traditional holiday drink warms you from the inside out on a cold winters’ night.

North Carolina Foreclosure

Information released by property tracking firm RealtyTrac for October 2008 showed that the number of foreclosed homes in North Carolina continued to decline by 20% in the month year-on-year. The data shows that foreclosed rate in the state rose compared to September. Analysts note that the data may indicate declining foreclosed homes volume in North Carolina.

What is the implication of the data? For homebuyers and investors, the buying spree for cheap foreclosed homes in the state may near bottom. For quite some time, North Carolina has not turned out as many foreclosed homes as in other states. Specifically, the number of foreclosures is very slim at one home in every 1,254 homes. That is far lower than the national average in October 2008 of a home in every 452 homes.

That is why it is not surprising that there is a slim chance for any homebuyer to buy cheap foreclosed homes in the state. However, hope should not be totally shed. There are still numerous foreclosed homes for sale listed in North Carolina foreclosure listings. Anyone who would want to snap up houses in the state could just check out such listings and be on auctions to be able to seize available opportunities.

The housing industry is starting to rise. The state is expected to follow the initiatives of other states in implementing neighborhood stabilization schemes so that households could be helped to prevent foreclosures. Now that there are still more than enough assets listed at North Carolina foreclosure listings, prospective homebuyers and investors should seize the opportunities and snap up cheap homes while supplies last.

Decorating The Home With Valentine’s Day Decor

Valentine’s Day comes hot on the heels of Christmas, New Year and the Chinese New Year, occasions when decorations, plus special home and garden decor, are at their most abundant. While people do not generally decorate their homes extensively for Valentine’s Day, now you have got in the decoration mood, why not have a few special Valentine ornaments about the home to signify the day.

If your Valentine’s ornaments are well chosen, they may even fit into your home decor at other times too. Special Valentine ornaments can also make unusual Valentine gifts, for supplementing the roses and chocolates, or even as gifts for Mum and Dad.

There is, of course, nothing like the vast choice of Valentine ornaments as there is for Christmas. But that does not mean there are none in the stores or online; and you can always make your own. If you have children, you may even find the younger ones make you something at school.

However, assuming you want to buy special Valentine’s ornaments and decor, then here are just a few ideas of the type of things to look out for.

Ideas For Valentine Décor

Vases

If you are buying, or expecting, roses on Valentine’s Day, then an appropriately designed and tastefully decorated vase may be a choice accompaniment. A red vase in an attractive design may prove opportune for Valentine’s Day, but can also play a part for your summer cut flowers when your garden is in full bloom; that is, if it is not over adorned with Valentine Day graffiti.

Welcome Signs

As with Christmas, a cheerful welcome sign to hang on or by the front door is great way to greet people who arrive at your home on and around Valentine’s Day. By signifying your home is a place of love and romance, visitors should be immediately warmed by the greeting. Some of the best examples are also very attractive.

Sun Catchers

By their very nature, sun catchers are very cheerful and optimistic, so are ideal for a heart warming Valentine’s Day, reflecting not just the sunlight but the light coming from your heart too. Coloured in reds and pinks, and with heart shaped decorations, if you are lucky enough to find a good Valentine sun catcher, it will be an attractive feature for some time to come.

Wind Chimes

Easier to find than sun catchers, Valentine wind chimes are a good choice for those who appreciate the gentle chime of these popular indoor and outside ornaments. Again you will find heart shaped decorations are common, but you may find the occasional fairy and other decorous feature added to make the wind chime even more attractive.

Controlled Calorie Low Carb Diet

Let’s have a look at a controlled calorie low carb diet. Watching calories, and reducing the number of carbs in your eating plan, is one way to watch your weight. For a vegetarian this can be a challenging way to eat. Most of the research that I have read would suggest that this is not a good long-term solution to a healthy eating plan, not even for weight loss purposes. I have observed the same with people that I have worked with. They do not last very long on it or they find that they succumb to carbohydrate cravings.

What we really want to identify here are those that are not serving us and we have to identify those which ones are giving our bodies heaps of nutrition. Bananas have lots and are very good for us, Doritos are not. A low carbohydrate way of eating leaves the body without enough fuel to feel energized and healthy.

Variety is very important in the diet. It is important to reduce the number of simple carbohydrates and increase the complex carbohydrates in our low calorie diet. If our objective is to lose weight, cut out all starches, breads, rice, potatoes, corn, etc and include large quantities of fresh vegetables and fruits.

Try and get your protein from organic, grange fed chicken, eggs, eating fish high in nutrients, like tilapia and North Atlantic salmon. Even better use legumes, lintels and small quantities of nuts and seeds or butters made from them. Sprouted grain breads and roles are good choices. They have great nutritional value, gives you something to bite into that will satisfy those cravings but will provide long lasting satisfaction.

A good controlled calorie low carb diet means eating less junk and making sure that every calorie that we eat has ample nutrition in it. Avoid the so called “empty” calories at all cost!

Good News! Losing weight can be achieved easier than you think. Go to Hendrika’s site Strip All That Fat for more weight loss tips and advice. You can also have a look at her Blog with the same name: Strip All That Fat.

Executive Office Suites - Rent Or Stay at Home?

Bottom line - renting an executive suite can be more costly in terms of money out of your pocket than working from home. For new businesses or existing businesses that are struggling, these extra dollars can be critical. However, the costs in lack of productivity and distractions can be significantly more than the direct costs of rent.

Often it’s hard to measure these types of costs and or to really realize them. One quick and easy way to do this is simply add up all of your monthly costs (both business and personal) and divide them by 30 days. By doing this you’ll know your daily “burn rate”. When you start realizing that every day you’re going through cash, regardless of how tight you are with your money, and or if you work from home or from an office space, you realize you have to be productive or you’ll go out of business.

The real problem of working from home is the distractions; fifteen minute here to help bring in the groceries, 10 minute there to let in the dog, 20 minutes to discuss your relationship with your significant other, etc. Also, the lack of total focus by being at home can cut into your time as well. All of this just adds up to a lot of wasted working time and you may come to the conclusion that it is much more costly than paying rent for an executive suite.

Additional benefits include have a secretary answer your phone, which gives a tremendous professional feel for a small business that might not be able to afford a full time receptionist. Other little things like having the trash taken out, or having a reliable copy and fax machine can be such a relief and time saver so you can focus on your bigger, more important issues like calling your clients to bring in more revenue.

How To Lose 60 Pounds in 3 Months

In order to lose 60 pounds in 3 months you will need to shock your body into losing a lot of weight fast. Just so you know, to lose 60 pounds in 3 months isn’t the easiest thing in the world and will require you to commit to this process heart and soul. However, with the right will and determination, it can be done.

In order to lose 60 pounds in 3 months, I suggest that you begin by cleansing your body. What this does is get rid of a lot of undigested pounds which have accumulated inside your body and which are weighing it down and damaging your health. Each person carries around some undigested weight. By using a detox diet, you can quickly flush out of your system all those pounds, lose a lot of weight fast and be ready for the next step of the process. This detox phase takes 10 days tops and you will see a great reduction in your weight. I suggest using the Master Cleanse detox diet (I provide a link to a review of this diet at the end of this article so read the whole thing through).

After you finish with the detox diet, you should take a few days to a week off any dieting and eat regularly (but healthy). Then the next phase of your process to lose 60 lbs in 3 months will commence. In this phase you will choose one of 2 courses:

1. Follow a Calorie Shifting diet (namely the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet)
2. Follow a fitness oriented fat loss program (I suggest the Turbulence Training program)

Again, I provide a link to a review of all these 3 programs at the end of the article so you can read more about each of them.

You should follow either of these 2 programs for 2 months. These will provide a slower weight loss rate than the Master Cleanse, but they’re more healthy to use for a long time straight. They should bring you closer to achieving your goal of losing 60 pounds in 3 months.

About 10 days before your 3 months are over, you should go on the Master Cleanse again to give your body the final push it needs to shed the last of those 60 pounds. If you do everything right, you have a good chance to lose 60 pounds in 3 months.

Ferrari values succumb to recession

Buyers cautious as prestigious Italian cars struggle to sell at auction.
By Paul Hudson

Desirable Ferraris have usually been considered less vulnerable to the vicissitudes of the world’s financial markets than most other marques, but car collectors kept their hands firmly in their pockets at last weekend’s Bonhams sale of Ferraris and associated memorabilia in Gstaad.

Many of the star lots failed to reach their estimates and were consequently not sold, although most of the more affordable lots found buyers. Even then, they struggled to achieve the lower end of their estimated prices.

The annual ‘Ferrari et les Prestigieuses Italiennes’ auction at Gstaad featured a host of not only desirable but seminal Ferraris for sale, most notably a 1955 121LM Spyder Corsa that competed in the 1955 Le Mans 24 Hours and that year’s Mille Miglia road race in the hands of Phil Hill, Eugenio Castellotti, Umberto Maglioli and Carroll Shelby. It was estimated at £2,808,450 to £3,945,000 but the price for one of the most collectible competition Ferraris to emerge on the open market for many years was apparently too steep as buyers responded to current financial woes with extreme caution.

An immaculate, 192 F40 also failed to sell, as did the 1951 212 Export Spider that came third overall in the 1951 Mille Miglia.

A 1967 275GTB/4, estimated at £717,000 to £836,000, had reached only £595,000 before the hammer fell.

The Ferrari ‘Daytona’ (proper name the 365GTB/4) coupe has been fetching high prices but one of the examples at Gstaad, one of only 530 Series 1 cars and estimated at £232,800 to £268,600, failed to sell.
